Gloomy Bear costume at the 2005 Comic Con International: San Diego.
The character is a Japanese creation from Pony Canyon. The creator thought since bears attack people, it would be funny to have a cute bear character that eats people. The character, like a Hello Kitty, is on tons of merchandise. He also comes in a rainbow of colors.
