Goofy started out in early Disney cartoons as "Dippy the Goof" and eventually morphed into the character known as Goofy. Originally a co-star with Mickey and Donald, he became a star himself with a series of "how to" cartoons turning him into an everyman. He is probably the most domesticated of the Disney stars having had a real wife and real children - not just "girl friends" and "nephews".
