INTERNET PETS
Original Pitch by John Cawley – May 2003
BEHIND THE STORY...
Here is another quickie pitch written for a pitch meeting session. I took the old gag about how on the Internet no one knows you are dog and turned it into a universe of high tech animals that help people. Was not really sure where this would go, but thought the name was pretty nifty. The development people did also. We talked at least twice on this proposal. The fear of having characters in too wide an area, rather than a single neighborhood worried the network. In the end the idea sort of drifted away.
And now my pitch...
INTERNET PETS
By day: Loving companions. By night: Wildlife sniffing the internet.
An Animated Sseries Proposal by John Cawley
Located in different homes around the city, this menagerie of characters includes a sexy kitten, a blabbermouth bird, a lovesick dog, and a lizard and fish duo. While their owners sleep, they utilize computers, laptops, cell phones and other handy internet outlets to connect with each other and the world. This core group communicates with a wide variety of other creatures, even humans (who don’t realize they are merely pets), creating mischief, going on adventures and even saving the Earth on occasion.
