ALIENS
Original Pitch by John Cawley – November 10, 1988

BEHIND THE STORY...
In 1986 ALIENS, the sequel to ALIEN (1979) debuted and became a box-office smash. With the success of the animated GHOSTBUSTERS series, it was thought a similar transfer to animation might work with ALIENS.
FOX expressed some interest in the idea. However, the success of the feature had already gotten them thinking of a third installment. FOX feared that an animated series might spread the property too thin. Due to various production issues, ALIEN 3 did not appear in theaters until 1992.

And now my pitch...

In space, we were the hunters
On earth, we are the hunted

An Animated Series Proposal by John Cawley

U.S. Military forces locate Nostromo III just inside earth's atmosphere and on a routine shuttle to bring back the carrier's occupants, the pilot team finds the bottom of the ship covered with eggs... Thousands of eggs.
Unfortunately, the military orders the Nostromo III destroyed despite Newt's warnings from the carrier's communication's laboratory that the Nostromo's destruction will scatter surviving eggs over a large portion of our globe. Newt and her young android companion, Antimax, barely escape the destruction of Nostromo III by hiding in a release pod and gliding to the surface.
Anson Franks, Commissioner of Project Security for a private corporation in Washington knows that any news of what has fallen to earth would cause worldwide hysteria and political upheaval especially in his highly secured division. After all, his client financed the Nostromo III's mission.
Together, with a high-ranking clique of military personnel, Franks has been ordered to eliminate all evidence of his employer's involvement in the project... material and crew. Their decision is to link Newt and her boy partner with a down and out mercenary outfit and pull them back into service.
By putting this new squad of run down troops up against creatures that are hatching and mutating due to our environment, they can't possibly survive.
Newt and Antimax would die in the line of duty and the rest of her fighting companions... who would care what happened to them?
The file could be closed with little noise or notice.
Thus, our story begins...
Newt and her small army of losers trying to destroy what man has mistakenly brought to earth and Newt and her small group attempting to survive two types of monsters one earthbound... one ALIEN.
